The Airbus A300 is a transport aircraft manufactured by Airbus from 1969 to 2007. It is intended for short and medium distances. The Airbus A300B prototype took off in 1972. It was equipped with two P&W JT9D-59 (Pratt & Whitney) or GE CF6-50C (General Electric) twin-jet engines. The width of the fuselage is 5.64 m and the wingspan is 44.84 m. The length and capacity is different for individual types. Capacity varies from 225 passengers (A300B1) to 345 passengers (A300-600). In March 2006, Airbus announced that it would end production of the A300 by July 2007.
