Croatia Airlines was founded in 1990, one year before Croatia declared its independence as a former Yugoslav republic in 1991. The airline’s early years were overshadowed by the Croatian War, which lasted from 1991 to 1995, and from which the country has made a lasting recovery, thanks mainly to its long coastline on the Adriatic Sea so attractive for tourists, and its accession to the European Union in 2013. Today, its fleet consists of six DHC-8-400s, a single A320 and five A319s. 9A-CTN is the first model in the slightly revised color scheme.
