On 24 May 2023, the German airline took delivery of its 600th Airbus aircraft, an A321neo with registration D-AIEQ. Lufthansa is the largest recipient of Airbus aircraft in history. To celebrate this milestone, a large silver "600" was applied to the fuselage sides of the A321neo. Since 1976, the airline has taken delivery of at least ten different Airbus models with the delivery of the then new A300B2. Looking ahead, Lufthansa plans to continue its partnership and acquire more than 100 additional Airbus aircraft by 2026 and then exceed 700 deliveries.
