High-quality metal model of the civil aircraft Aibus A321neo in detailed design. The package includes a stand, antenna and chassis.
The Airbus A321neo is a single-aisle airliner created by Airbus. The A321neo (neo is Greek for "new" as well as short for "new engine") is developed from the Airbus A321 and Airbus A320neo family. It is the longest stretched fuselage of the Airbus A320 series and the latest version of the A321, with the original A321ceo entering service in 1994 with Lufthansa. It typically has a capacity of 180 to 220 passengers in a two-class configuration and up to 244 passengers in a high-density configuration.
The A321neo was announced by Airbus in December 2010 as an upgrade and replacement for the A321ceo. The A321neo is equipped with new engines and fins as standard and has the longest fuselage of any Airbus commercial narrowbody. Equipped with CFM International LEAP-1A or Pratt and Whitney PurePower PW1100G-JM turbofan engines, Airbus advertises a 20% increase in fuel consumption per passenger, with 500 nautical miles more range or 2 tons more payload. A year after the presentation of the A321neo, Boeing presented a new generation of its competitive narrow family 737 MAX.
The A321neo entered production in 2016, with final assembly taking place in Hamburg, Germany.[citation needed] It entered service with Virgin America on 31 May 2017 and made its first commercial flight. As of August 2023, 85 disclosed customers have ordered a total of 5,400 A321neo aircraft, of which 1,133 aircraft have been delivered.
