The most notable improvement of the G80 M3 is the power of 473 hp, an increase of 35 kW (47 PS; 47 hp) compared to the previous F80 M3 model, as well as the use of the double radiator grille from the 4 Series. All-wheel drive ( xDrive ) has been announced as an option for the new M3, which would represent the first time that the M3 would use a drivetrain layout other than rear-wheel drive. The manual transmission will only be available with rear-wheel drive and is the only transmission available for the standard M3.
