Alpina has always tried to optimize the performance of the standard BMWs while maintaining an idea of discreet luxury and sobriety. It is in this line that the B7 coupé, derived from the 6 E24 Series, is one of the most successful elaborations in the history of the Alpina. The engine was fitted with a turbocharger stretching the maximum output to 300 bhp. Aesthetically, the bodywork of the original coupe, designed by Paul Bracq, received some aerodynamic touches, such as the front and rear spoilers and the characteristic stripes with Alpina logos.
