The first customer for Boeing's latest generation of the “Triple Seven” is Deutsche Lufthansa. 20 copies of the 777-9 have been ordered and should modernize and standardize the long-haul fleet from the end of 2020. In the long term, it will replace the Boeing 747-400 and some A380s.
