The ZX890LCH-7 crawler excavator is the long-awaited replacement for the original ZX870 model manufactured more than 10 years ago. The updated design has been accurately captured by TMC Scalemodels down to the smallest detail.
The configuration consists of a 7.1m BE boom with a 2.95m BE arm and bucket with raised metal hydraulic lines and armored flexible hoses to add realism. The movement of the rollers is smooth, with a lot of resistance, which allows the arm to stay in the selected position with a convincingly captured range of motion. The track undercarriage is fitted with double grooved pads with lower roll details integrated into the track frame castings. Access steps have been added to the rail frames and the final drive covers have raised bolt fixing details.
The main body has a solid counterweight with a metal safety rail and a side service platform that has a perforated walkway. Unlike its predecessor, the cab has fully opening doors with an excellent amount of detail, from the driver's hand and foot controls, side console and seat to the hydraulic shut-off safety lever. Exterior cab details include a radio aerial, roof and front window dirt nets and integrated work lights with silver lenses. There's a hinged engine cover that can be lifted to reveal parts of the engine bay, while silver radiator panels complete with a textured finish can be seen behind the slotted side panels.
