Product description

Delivered new from the factory in 1938, HB-IRO, like almost all Swissair aircraft in the first half of the 1940s, had striking red and white stripes on the fuselage and wings. This was common practice during the Second World War to avoid Swiss planes being shot down by the belligerent parties due to confusion. In 1955, it was sold to the American Ozark Airlines. Decades later she flew as the N143D in Herpa colors at numerous air shows.
