Quality metal model of the Douglas DC3 / Douglas C53 Skytrooper USAAF military aircraft. The model is detailed and precisely processed, according to the real machine. The model package includes a magnetic chassis and a removable stand.
After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, the DC-3 became the military's C-53 Skytrooper, first used for supply flights across the Atlantic to England and later moved to the North African theater of war.
After a long career, this plane found its first resting place in Beach City, Ohio until it was accidentally discovered and purchased by Jason Capra in 2015. After five years of hard work, the Vintage Wings team was able to present their "Beach City Baby" to the public in its historic Air Transport Command livery. A novelty was the nostalgic design of the nose, named after the place where the second life of this legendary aircraft began.
