Quality metal model of Douglas DC6B KLM Jan van Riebeeck civil aircraft. It is a detailed and precisely processed model based on a real aircraft. The model package includes a removable stand and a magnetic chassis.
In 1946, just one year after the end of World War II, KLM became the first European airline to start a transatlantic connection to New York. In 1948, it had already built an extensive network of long-distance routes to Africa and North and South America, also with the help of the then new Douglas DC-6. Entered into service in 1952, this DC-6B is named after Jan van Riebeeck, a Dutch physician, businessman and founder of Cape Town in present-day South Africa.
