Lockheed F-35A #08-0748 (AF-10) is the fifth production model F-35, manufactured using the moving assembly line that travels at a rate of 50 inches per hour. 0748 completed its maiden flight on June 29th, 2011 before being delivered to the 58th Fighter Squadron of the 33rd Operations Group on August 15th, 2011. The 33rd OG is the flying component of the 33rd Fighter Wing, stationed at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Its primary mission is to provide training for USAF F-35A, USMC F-35B, and USN F-35C pilots and maintainence crews, as well as international partner training in the various versions of the aircraft.
