The Lockheed Martin/Boeing F-22 Raptor is a fifth-generation American fighter aircraft using stealth technology. The Raptor was developed primarily as an air superiority aircraft, but it is also capable of attacking ground targets, electronic warfare and espionage missions. The USAF considers the F-22 Raptor to be a core element of its combat power. Together with the F-35, they will form a very effective combat team in which they will take advantage of each other's strengths.
