The 308 GTB presented in 1975 marked a kind of revolution in Ferrari's commercial policies. That car, after all, "small" by Maranello's standards, opened up new possibilities, with a 3000cc V8 central engine. Handy and aesthetically pleasing, the 308 GTB was designed by Pininfarina, with lines that would become characteristic in all Ferrari production of the years to come. Soon the 308 GTB became the best-selling Ferrari and remained in production until 1985 with sales results hitherto unknown to the brand. In the late 1980s the engine received Bosch injection and two years later the four valves per cylinder, maintained until 1985.
