Quality metal-plastic model aircraft Grumman F14A Tomcat US Navy "Sukhoi Killer" VF-41, USS Nimitz, August 1981. The model is packaged with base, landing gear and antenna.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is an American twin-engine supersonic fighter of the 4th generation with variable wing geometry. It was primarily designed as an on-board fighter plane to fight for air supremacy, but later it was also equipped with weapons designed to destroy ground targets.
The Tomcat was developed by Grumman for the US Navy as a replacement for the F-4 Phantom II aircraft. During the years 1976-1979, 78 F-14A aircraft were also delivered to Iran, which was then under the rule of Shah Reza Pahlavi.
