Quality metal model of Lufthansa Lockheed L-1649A Super Star civil aircraft. It is a detailed and precisely processed model based on a real aircraft. The model package includes a removable stand.
On September 25, 1957, D-ALUB was delivered to Lockheed as the first of a total of six L-1649A "Starliners" to the fledgling Deutsche Lufthansa AG. It was the only specimen that did not have the "parabolas" that were common at the time on its three rudders. As the time of the first aircraft approached - the first Boeing 707s entered service in 1960 - the "Super Star", as Lufthansa called it, gained its position as the long-haul flagship for only a short time. D-ALUB was converted to a freighter in 1960 and then finally sold in 1966.
