The Mercedes-Benz 540K Autobahnkurier is the successor to the 1934 in Berlin as "motorways courier car 8-cylinder compressor type 500" presented sports car.
The 761 produced W29s were delivered with 3 different chassis and as open touring cars, sedans, coupes, highway couriers, roadsters and convertibles.

The highway courier of the type 540K was only produced 2 or 3 times.
One of them has the Mexican Arturo Keller, who bought and restored it a few years ago. A second model is considered lost in Iran and the existence of the 3rd motorway courier is not secured.
Since the restoration, the Mercedes collector Arturo Keller participates with the Autobahnkurier in various rallies and competitions. Most recently, he won the Gold Cup (Audience Award) at the Concorso d'Eleganza on Lake Como with this magnificent car.
The then new price was 24,000 Reichsmark, which corresponds to today's conditions, approximately 160,000 euros.
