The MiG-29 is a fourth-generation twin-engine supersonic jet fighter developed in

The NATO designation for the MiG-29 is Fulcrum and it was designed to counter the American F-16
and the F-18. The MiG-29 was first seen in the West in 1986. The MiG-29 (9-13) is designated as
Fulcrum C.
In 1989, the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) entered into a contract to purchase 20 MiG-29s; 14
MiG-29A and 6 Mig-29UB for the 11th TFS. The newly created Islamic Revolutionary Guards
the Corps Air Force was to receive 16 MiG-21s from East Germany, but this did not happen.
