Quality model of the 1982 Pontiac Firebird passenger car in white. The model is packaged in a cardboard box.
The Pontiac Firebird is an American automobile manufactured and produced by Pontiac from 1967 to 2002. Designed as a pony car to compete with the Ford Mustang, it was introduced on February 23, 1967, five months after GM's Chevrolet division shared the platform with the Camaro. This also coincided with the introduction of the 1967 Mercury Cougar, a luxury version of Ford's Mustang that shared the platform. The name "Firebird" had also previously been used by GM for the General Motors Firebird series of concept cars in the 1950s.
