With the G series, Porsche designed a major evolution of the 911. In accordance with the strict American safety and pollution laws, the bumpers were significantly enlarged and the engine volume increased to 2687 cc thanks to the latest generation Bosch K-Jetronic injection. The base model was offered with 150 hp at 5,700 rpm, replacing the 2.4-liter 911T. The standard 911 G series, launched in the summer of 1973, gained 15 hp from the year of production in 1975. The car remained in the catalog until 1977, a total of 17,260 units, coupe or targa, were produced.
