The Renault 18 is a mid-size car produced by the French car manufacturer Renault between 1978 and 1993, with production for European markets ending in 1986. It was intended to replace the Renault 12, which was produced from 1969, although it was produced until in 1980. Unlike the R12, the R18 was designed relatively quickly. The time from its first conception to its launch was only 18 months.
