Popis produktu

The first German mass produced 109 fighter was the Bf-109E that has been mistakenly referred to as the Me-109. The Bf is the designator for the Bayerische Flugzeugwerke (BFW) (Bavarian Aircraft Works) that produced the original aircraft. In 1938 Messerschmitt took over BFW but throughout WWII German handbooks and documents referred to the aircraft as the Bf-109. By the
end of 1939 the Bf-109E (Emil) had replaced all other 109 variants and quipped 13 Gruppens with 40 aircraft each. The Bf-109 was the main single-engine aircraft until the Fw-190 came along.
In 1934 Adolf “Dolfo” Galland joined the Luftwaffe and a fighter pilot in 1935 and flew with the Condor Legion in Spain. When WWII broke out Galland was a Staffelkapitän flying 50 ground attack missions in Poland. In February 1940 Galland became a Geschwader Adjutant. On May 12, 1940 he scored his first three aerial victories. On July 18, 1940 Adolf was promoted to Major.
On September 24, 1940 RAF Ace Harold Bird-Wilson became Galland’s 40th victim. By the end of WWII Adolf Galland had accumulated 104 victories.
