The 1964 500 Superfast was a GT away from the traditional Ferrari road patterns: with an imposing look (2650 cm wheelbase) and great performance thanks to an engine of almost 5 liters for 400 HP, the car retained the name Superfast referring to the Pininfarina series produced from 1960 to 1963. 36 cars were set up, plus one equipped with the 330 GT engine. The 500 Superfast was produced from 1964 to 1966 in two series. On the second series a new synchronized 5-speed gearbox was adopted which replaced the previous 4-speed gearbox.
