On October 7, 1933, Air France was formed through a merger of five smaller French airlines. The chance to celebrate eight decades of service does not happen often in the airline business. Therefore, Air France decided to commemorate the occasion by painting over-sized digits of the number 80 on the fuselages of an A320 and A380, with different images of the past 80 years on each side of the aircraft.
