The Messerschmitt Bf109 is one of the world's famoust fighter aircraft of World War 2. The first flight took place on 28th May 1935. The Bf109 saw service in 1937 and was, with all its different versions, the backbone of the German Luftwaffe to the end of the war. Approximately 34.500 units were built, that makes the Bf109 the most produced fighter aircraft in history.
