Tatra, a. with. is the third oldest existing factory, which started serial production of passenger cars in 1897 as the first in Austria-Hungary. The most well-known part of the company is the Tatra Kopřivnice plants focused on the production of cars and engines. Production of passenger cars ceased in 1999, but the company still produces primarily off-road trucks with 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, 10x10 and 12x12 drivetrains. Since 2017, the owner of this part of the Tatras (TATRA TRUCKS a.s.) is the private Czech holding Czechoslovak Group.
