Product description
Metal model of the Tupolev TU22M3M Backfire military aircraft in detailed design. The package contains a stand.
In 2008, immediately after the war in Georgia, in which one Russian Tu-22M was shot down, work on further modernization began. The aircraft, designated as Tu-22M3M, was equipped with more modern avionics, including new navigation and communication systems. Another significant improvement should be the integration of new weapons using GLONASS satellite guidance. The first Tu-22M3M machines were put into service at the beginning of February 2012, and by 2020 the Russian Air Force plans to modernize 30 aircraft to this standard.
