Quality metal model of Vickers Viscount 800 Trans Australian Airlines in "McDouall Stuart" version. The model is detailed and precisely processed according to the real machine.
Trans Australian Airlines was one of the first airlines in the world to add the then revolutionary Vickers Viscount to its fleet. It was the first aircraft TAA equipped with a pressurized cabin, resulting in a more comfortable flight experience for passengers. TAA ordered a total of 16 examples, which were delivered between 1954 and 1964 and used until 1971. In the late 1950s, TAA introduced a new look, painting the tails of its aircraft bright orange. The luminous coating was introduced in order to facilitate the recognition of the aircraft in the sky and thus increase safety. The polished aluminum that was common until then tended to reflect the colors of the surroundings, making the aircraft difficult to spot. The "Day Glow" paint was only used for about three years because it tended to fade and peel off quickly. Nevertheless, the coloring has become a hallmark of TAA to this day.
