The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a highly maneuverable multi-role single-engine fighter aircraft designed for air combat and ground attack. It is a relatively cheap but very effective weapon that replaced the F-4 Phantom II and other types (in some European air forces, for example the F-104 Starfighter). for arrival at the place of combat, combat and return) all aircraft of a potential opponent. Its equipment enables attacks on targets regardless of the time of day, night or weather. The designers of the F-16 were based on the latest knowledge of aerodynamics and previous types, such as the F-15 or the F-111. The reduction in the size and weight of the machine, its purchase price and the price of accessories did not in any way lead to a reduction in its power. The F-16 can withstand an overload of up to 9 g with a full fuel tank, surpassing the capabilities of other existing fighters.
The prototype of the F-16 aircraft first flew in 1974. The production of these very widespread combat machines continues (since 1993) under the new banner of the manufacturer as the Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon even after the arms giant Lockheed Martin bought the company General Dynamics.
